The Quadrant

I learnt this today :-

1st section of Quadrant : "Dunno what you dunno"
This is where you don't learn because u don't know where to start. ("Ignorance is bliss"??)

2nd section of Quadrant : "Knowing what you dunno"
You progress to finding out things and you would be knowing what you dunno. (read more, converse with ppl more and listen more, all ye people)

3rd section of Quadrant : "Dunno what you know"
You have it in you but you don't know that you have it in order to utilise/make use of it. (it's like having a gift/talent/knowledge but you don't know its existence! Urgh.)

4th section of Quadrant : "Knowing what you know"
This is self-explanatory... and possibly the best quadrant to be in!

Sound of Music

Tine, your wish is my command:-

Total volume of music on my computer: No music in my old pc in Seremban. At work? err, a measly 200MB.

The last CD I bought was: I can't remember...it was THAT long ago.

Song playing right now: I m listening to JazzFm online... "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman"

5 songs that mean a lot to me (not sure if any song mean a lot to me but here are songs which I absolutely adore) :
You're the First, the Last, My Everything by Barry White
Fallen by Lauren Wood
The Way You Look Tonight by Tony Bennett
You to Me are Everything by The Real Thing
Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Diana Ross

I am a little of a rebel, so I am not passing this on ;)

gradual steamin'

My friend and I went to watch Kingdom of Heaven last Wednesday night at TGV 1 Utama. Since it's a new release and movies on Wednesdays are priced at only RM6/ticket, I went to buy the tickets the night before (even then, the available seats were first 4 rows from the screen and a few 5th row seats!!). Naturally, I bought the 5th row seats.

It's such a nice feeling when you are able to take your time and not rush to catch a movie. And that's just what my friend and I did.
8pm : easy going on the dinner.
8.45pm : made our way to the cinema.
8.55pm : as we were looking our seats, we noticed the cinema was unusually warm. I thought perhaps it's because the cinema was packed with people.
9.00pm : sat through the commercials and hey, Star Wars III trailer.
9.05pm : movie started.
9.20pm : golly, it's warm in here. What's that funny smell? Is it from the carpet or the people in front?
9.30pm : a few people started fanning themselves with pamphlets they had with them from shopping. Ok, the a/c is definitely out, how long does it take to get it fixed?!?
9.45pm : more groans, more paper-flapping sounds. Aarrgh, wish I had something to fan myself with!
10pm : Bailin's mouth moving but we couldn't hear what our hero was saying. Great, now the audio system's out?!?

*an unfamiliar voice suddenly booms out from the speakers "Attention ladies and gentlemen, the air-conditioning system is not working and if you would like to get a refund for your ticket, kindly make your way to the ticket counter. We apologise for the inconvenience."*

I looked at my friend and we decided to stay on since we were already halfway through the movie. Unfortunately, 90% of the audience had the same thought. Temperature rose gradually and I was getting a steambath.

11.25pm : movie ended and everyone strided towards the exit.
11.30pm : we went back to the ticket counter to get our refund. A couple of youngsters before us were told by the ticketing guy that refund would only be given before 11pm. But we weren't going to accept that. We politely told the ticketing guy that the condition wasn't announced and therefore, we should be given the refund...and we did :)

Free sauna session in the cinema - once is enough, thank you very much.

it WAS good for me

"Why don't you go instead? It'll be good for you" said my big boss. Yes boss, if you say so... hey, there's free lunch. Let it go to waste not.

And so I found myself driving to an unfamiliar place and entering a room without recognizing anyone at a glance. As I was taking my seat, my eyes met someone's across the narrow aisle and we both gasped. Since the press conference was in session, we couldn't burst out our hellos but settled for an exchange of smiles. As soon as it was over, I walked towards her and asked the question that's been on my mind since I sat my behind down. "What are you doing here??" (it was a press conference for a golf tournament, for crying out loud. Now just who would you bump into??) Coincidently, she was attending because her boss couldn't make it. She hasn't changed much since the last time I saw her (that, would be 7 years ago). We went on our own Q&A session and it's quite amazing we could just pick up from where we left off without a moment of awkwardness.

So, thanks boss. It was good for me.

nuts... did I just create my own blog?!?

I didn't want to be anonymous to post a comment at my cousin's blog and so I decided to sign-in for a user account. Never crossed my mind to get a blog of my own. Oh well, now that I've come this far... cookie anyone?
